Literally true though. In this fight he's the only thing dealing any form of damage truly threatening Isobel. She can heal herself for 30ish too, which is more than the 3 or so devil-thingies can deal in a turn. The Horrors can very much kill her turn 1 if you are unlucky. Unless you play on story mode I guess.
Even if you take them on another path on a second playthrough, it's still the same character with the same story. You grow tired of seeing the same faces every time. In a party based game, I would prefer the possibility of playing an entirely different party. You can't do that with just 6 companions. The same faces will haunt you every single time.
