All horizontal panel seams with T1-11 siding need to have Z-flashing between them-I can't tell from your pics if they do. Regarding the other comment-I'd be very surprised if your siding was NOT over studs. T1-11 siding almost always is installed over studs, and hopefully over housewrap/tar paper if the builder was conscientious enough.
