This also happens when I try to join them. This issue has persisted since the start of quarantine, across Buzzy Bees and Nether Update. I was able to play with a different person, also on Xbox, a little while back but have been unable to check whether that is still the case. If it's your own, then you should be fine joining in 1.18.2 - if it belongs to someone else, then they need to log in with the latest version first for the realm to update.
