The mag tube if it is a 92 should have a recessed hole in the barrel that a set screw that goes through the mag tube cap sits in to retain the mag tube in its position. You should not inlet or modify the mag tube at all to make the barrel band screw fit correctly. I recently picked up an M92 in SS, 16", in .38/.357 and it's a great little thing. I take it everywhere with me because it's so light and handy. I think I got the set to my door in a week or so. Prices were $80 for the stock and $57 for the forend. I don't remember how much shipping was. I took it off, looking for cracks or obvious defects in the woodworking. Then put it back in place, with a good slap to the butt to seat it well. Re-tightened the bolt and (so far) it is tight.
