The ECM might need to see itself out of limp mode, which would mean connecting the missing parts back on for it to see them to pop out of limp mode, and be tuned.

The problem I am experiencing is that once this tranny issue is triggered as I am driving, I only have 1st and 4th gears. This issue goes away if I turn the truck off and restart it. I have a 6-speed automatic transmission. The transmission went to 4th and skidded the tires significant enough to create smoke from the tires.
