I try to go away from my tames but there are kapros everywhere so I'm scared to stand still without a tame where I'm taming these sinomacrops. The Sinomacrops are passively tamed with chitin. To feed it, you have to place chitin in your inventory slot on the far right and walk towards a Sinomacrops that will also walk towards you, due to its curiosity, much like the Ichthyosaurus underwater. If you are close enough, the command "Feed to tame" will appear, which you execute.
An even more annoying tame now. There was even a wooden sign method after the cage patch but they fixed that too. After trying 4+ spots my favorite spot to tame them is the safe spot that's near a lake that has the artifact cave entrance in the water. You can even use a raft and the Sinomacrops can land on it if it flies into water or the ocean.
