No, absolutely not true, I put a white or gold sign down outside of Capra or Quelaag, and I get summoned within a few minutes. It depends on time zone and when you are active. Period.

I went from 5 sunlight medals to 30 in about 2 hours. Falconers are actually pretty tough so be prepared. There are 5 Falconers in total on the path.
