Legend is very hit and miss. As long as you're doing it solo and you have the respective dlc for the exotic you have a chance every lost sector run. Also make sure to kill every champion that spawns, the more you kill, the higher chance at an exotic. Make sure that you are killing all the champs as well.
Lost Sectors don't have a seasonal reward pool. They only have specific slot drops per day. Lost Sectors are just weighted to give you exotics you haven't gotten yet, and then it's random. You can probably run Lost Sectors for both. I don't recommend spending shards on Xur. No its just solo. Unfortunately the RGN is pretty bad. Legendary lost sector rng is bad. Id do master if at all possible. Nope, you can die as many times as you want but it is all down to rng. Sometimes it’ll happen where you don’t get an exotic in like 20 runs. Edit: what does matter is killing all the champions tho.
