As far as I know, all the piston uppers, e.g. my Sig 516, require a standard recoil assembly in the lower, just like a DI upper. I wouldn't think you could run anything but an MCX upper on that lower.

I looked at the MAC video of him comparing the Virtus and LT barrels and it seems as if the barrel on the LT is a thinner profile behind the gas block and the piston looks a little different.
