I have a 94/.22 mag. it is a accurate fun rifle to shoot. mine was bought new by my dad in the '80s I inhereted it a few years ago. so I guess it is also one of the older models. it shoots and handles like a dream. the only drawback to the .22 mag is the cost of ammo if you are a plinker. for hunting larger sized small game and turkeys it is ideal.

At the end of the old Winchester Company production, the 9422 had more hand work and fitting than any other model in the line. They come in both checkered and un-checkered versions in Walnut an a couple versions with laminate stocks. Also, any recomendations or experience refinishing this gun would be greatly appreciated. Model 94's often had high nickel contents which CAN be hot salt blued successfully. However they require more careful control of the heat of the salts to get it done well.
