Aug 30, 2021 · I purchased a S&W 327 in early December 2020. The grips on the gun were supplied by Altamont and fit like yours. I tried shooting it and the grips bit the web of my hand. I contacted Altamont and they told me to contact S&W. S&W sent me a new set that fit the same as the original grips. I tried the grips on a 21-4 and they fit fine. The Altamont 1911 Govt. Fingergroove Silverblack Checkered Engraved) did take some minor fitting; the mounting holes needed to be carefully hand-reamed to fit over the grip bushings on the Ruger SR1911 “Lightweight Commander” before they could fit like a glove. The front of the panel mated well with no separation.The grips on the upper gun are from Thailand The lower set are Altamont Altai grips. Both sets are better than the factory boot grips as far as reducing recoil because they are bigger which allows the forces to be spread over a larger area of your hand.
